There was a strange conversation on the Jim White show this lunchtime, as Bob Mills reminisced over a game from 20 years ago this week when Craig Shakespeare featured for Grimsby in a 1-1 draw against a City lineup, that according to Mills, boasted Kernaghan, McGoldrick, and Rosler.
He then expanded on the game which included goals from Peter Appleton and Mikhail Kavelashvili.
Mills questioned if anyone remembered Kavelashvili, and Michael Gray replied:
“Yes, I played with him at Sunderland. He was really popular at City”
Now, maybe Gray was getting mixed up with Nicky Summerbee, (who certainly wasn’t popular at City)
Otherwise, answers on a postcard.
