VPN/Proxy servers

Worth pointing out that NordVPN has green in all categories apart from "Business Ethics". On further investigation, they got a red in this because they don't force affiliates to use certain language when selling their product.
Ah that's why, I couldn't figure that out when I first saw the red lol

Not sure the list is completely accurate / up to date because my VPN had a red against log useage but the VPN chatline denies this and claims there is no user logging at all, so who do I believe and how can I check ?

If it's got a red I'd be concerned; this guides fairly well respected across the internet

Apologies if this question sounds dumb but if I sign up for Nordvpn, will the account let me use it on a variety of terminal equipment eg. Android TV boxes, home PC and a couple of iPhones or do you need a separate account for android, iPhones etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ag, I suppose it won´t be the first time lies are told for whatever reason by companies.
Why would any VPN supplier want to log user use anyway ? From their standpoint it seems to be more work and server space but to what ends ?

I'm not sure mate, who's your provider?
There's always the off chance they could be in deep with legal authorities if they don't share logs to them; I'm only speculating though

1. Legislation - many companies don't have a choice because they're based in countries which force them to retain access logs for a certain period of time. Some don't admit this because they understand it goes against their business model. NordVPN despite the Nordic name is actually based in Panama for this very reason.

2. Liability - if somebody was using their services to hack the CIA or distribute child porn, they could find this person and work with relevant organisations which would decrease their criminal liability. As it stands NordVPN can track these people but only as they are currently online and doing bad things then their connection disappears into the ether. There's no historical footprints.

3. Billing - it's useful for many analytics and advertising. They can suggest higher tiers to higher users, maybe market them something they are interested in, the general stuff.
