Really looking forward to this. AC Milan have gone big this summer, Adrien Silva, Musacchio, Kessie and Ric Rodriguez all signed up with Donnarumma set to sign an extension.
Inter have cash to splash too, and Sarri's Napoli are thrilling to watch. Could this year be the end of Juventus' reign?
Based on incomings and outgoings since the end of the season 5 weeks ago, Juventus look as if they need to invest heavily in the transfer market if they are to remain dominant and get a record 7th successive Scudetto. The club indicated that they have around €160m available to spend and so far there is no official signings though Patrick Schick - Sparta Prague, is likely to be announced early next week as the first done deal at €30m. Alves and Sandro need replacing and De Sciglio and Danilo are touted as replacements. They don't strike me as being that good. The Bonucci situation looks uncertain too. In midfield they look light and they sought to get Douglas Costa from Bayern for €40m but have cooled their interest after Bayern asked for €50m. Bernardeschi looks like being completed next week for €40m. Not too sure whether he is worth it. So Juve have some way to go to strengthen their squad.
Roma - in the wake of FFP restrictions are selling like crazy. Rudiger ( a class act ) is Chelsea bound for circa £40m, they have lost or are about to lose Manolas, Paredes and the Rags are even sniffing around for their best player Nainggolan. So they too look - like Juventus - as though they would struggle to mount a title winning campaign. On the plus side, they have announced the signing today of Pellegrini who I rate highly.
Napoli, if they can hang on to Insigne, Mertens, Callejon and Koulibaly look set fair. They will hope for Milik to stay injury free as he looked the real deal last season up until the time he got injured and was sidelined for months. I'd expect them to finish in the top 2.
Milan's signing of Andre Silva looks to be a real coup at €30m. Kessie looks to have tremendous potential and the Chinese ownership has had real positive effects with the 6 signings so far. Things look promising here.
Inter, also with Chinese ownership are also investing heavily whilst trying to hang on to Peresic who Mourinho wants.
Both Milan clubs are almost certain to be much better than last season
Fiorentina is up for sale and looks in a bad way.
Atlanta will be interesting to watch in the Europa League after their 4th place finish.
Summing up, it's still far too early in the Transfer Window to make definite judgements. By mid August everything will be much clearer.
