Fire on Ashton Old Road

Important Travel Update – Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers


Due to a large fire in the Openshaw area, Ashton Old Road is currently closed between Fairfield Street and Alan Turing Way.


Significant disruption is expected for the rest of the day around the area. You are advised to seek an alternative route and allow extra time when travelling to and from the stadium this evening.


If you are driving, use M60 Junction 24 or 22 for the Etihad. Local buses are being diverted away from the area, please follow @stagecoachGM for updates. There are currently no changes to the Metrolink but keep up to date @MCRMetrolink

ffs. i think the club should put something out, as loads of people come from that way and park near there. its going to be a nightmare for a lot of people

If you are coming from the Ardwick, Brunswick or Stockport side make for Pin Mill Brow then do a right onto Ashton New RD and park around there, or take second right and head to Ancoats and park around there, loads of car parks that side of ground

Forgot to add if your coming from Ashton or Stalybridge the road forks at Audenshaw, take the right fork and your on the New Rd, good job it's the League cup and not a Prem game

I would get the Metro down New Rd, chaos from Droylsden onwards

At my parents no water in the houses as preasures low, their house is a couple of minutes frim D's so firstly cannot water the beer down tonight and god knows what the toilets will be like in an hr in there.
