Serie A 2017/18

Interesting Veronese derby earlier, Hellas went one up early on, then Chievo started bossing the game, went 2-1 up, the second after a stupid foul in the box by our ex-player, Bruno Zuculini.

Zuculini then slid through the back of another player 10 minutes later, resulting in a second yellow.

Hellas started the 2nd half well and got it back to 2-2 after a video-ref call for a penalty (correct decision). They then started sitting back too deep, Chievo were all over them and scored after 73mins, ultimately the winner. They scored again later on but it was ruled out for offside, again after a video-ref decision.

Disappointing for Hellas, but maybe my amico's there will get there wish and see Pecchia (head coach) sacked.

Aleks is killing it in back in Italy.

3 goals and 3 assists so far this season, including the winner today vs Torino. Trademark free-kick.

Reports in Italy suggest Chelsea have set their sights on Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri to succeed Antonio Conte, offering him €12m.
According to 7 Gold television, emissaries from the Premier League giants are working towards an approach for Sarri, as the rapport with Conte has broken down.
If Conte does last to the end of the season, then he’s widely expected to walk away next summer, possibly towards Milan.
Sarri has a release clause in his contract with Napoli worth €7.5m and that is small fry for Chelsea, who would also reportedly be prepared to pay him a salary worth €12m per year.

Another beating for Hellas, this time away at Atalanta, 3-0. Was 0-0 and pretty even at half time, they got blitzed second half though.

All three promoted clubs staying in the bottom three by the looks of it, with Benevento heading for a 10th straight defeat in their first ever season in the top flight, in 10 games. SPAL 2013 also losing, 4-1 at Juve.

wonder if he'll stay to build Napoli and maybe take over Pep in a couple of years, such is the admiration. If he takes a 10 second cursory look at Chelsea he can cash his severance cheque tomorrow.

Sarri rebuilding Pep's team in a couple of years would be a dream. The only modern coach that I'd put in the same tier with Guardiola.
And then....Pep returns and the cycle repeats ;D

Rich rivals getting Sarri is a disastrous scenario for City, though he needs a lot of time to implement his methods, just like Pep.

which he wouldn't get at chelsea before he gets sacked

Really competitive this year between Napoli, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, and Roma. Juventus might win it again, but they should definitely get a fight from the rest of them.
