Or rather "We can, but FFP stops us from doing so"*

Still there are ways of bypassing FFP that the club have yet to try, way such as:

1: Getting other state owned companies from other UAE Emirates (Such as Emirates Airline) to sponsor us.

2: Having Girona buy players using additional funds (which will also be used to pay the resulting UEFA fines) from City Football Group and sponsorship from UAE state owned companies and then sell (at a low fee) or loan the players in question to City itself.

3: Have Abu Dhabi and Dubai based state owned companies/sovereign wealth funds invest into certain companies which then end up sponsoring City and Girona (using most of the proceeds of the investment in question)

4: Have property assets transfered from Abu Dhabi state owned companies to Man City itself, who can in turn sell such property (maybe even back to those same companies at inflated prices though offshore based fronts) to fund transfer fees and wages.

*I was aware of our latest financial figures (and the fact we have enough of a surplus to keep UEFA off our backs) and you what I was thinking? Why on earth can Man U justify that much more commercial revenue (the one area which they outclass us beyond doubt) when we have been at their level (or better) for 7 seasons now?
Have you ever thought our owners might be happy with FFP, want us to stand on our own two feet, be self sustaining and profitable, and don't want to be pouring tens of millions of pounds into us.

I seem like you think you live in some sort of fantasy world.

I seem like you think you live in some sort of fantasy world.

It is fantasy to suggest that we can win the Quadruple (which let's not forget is the aim of this club) with Fabian Delph as our only fit LB (good as he has been, he cannot do it on his own), no decent backup DMs, one consistently good GK (Bravo was excellent in the Wolves game, but it remains to be seen if he can be co in other games), no (half decent) fit CBs other than Stones and Otamendi (with question marks about the partnership, such as against the West Brom EPL game this season), no dedicated backup wingers and only one backup AM. All of which are part of a squad which have to play another 40-50 games this season (with as many as 3 games in a week) against opponents which are almost all without exception no walkovers at best and worst extremely difficut challenges to say the least.

When you look it that way, at certain games this season and the fact players such as ours can only sustain this level of performance for so long. You can see why I advocate more WC/quality players in our squad and thus more strength in depth. Because when going gets tough this season, we will certainly needd it unless we want our club to screw up for yet another season.

Do you think we have a budget of 1 billion? Lol
Him and Easy are clearly wums or Clarkie proponents

My apologies... I see Easy was joking. Blue1880 though isn't. Or more likely than not he is a Spurs fan trying to rile up support here for a silly suggestion

No because he/she isn’t what they pretend to be imo of course.

Nope, just a Man City fan who wants to see the club they have loyally supported become of the dominant clubs of Britain and Europe, with dominance over the Premier League and FA Cup and as strong a record in Europe as that Champions League Specialist Real Madrid. As well as someone who also prefers to see the club learn from the mistakes of the past as well and see fans of rival clubs (unless they have become Cityzens themselves) either respect us or at least resent our sucess.

Everything I advocate on this forum is done so with this aim in mind.

If I was a Spurs fan, why would I advocate such a move in the first place? Seriously though if we are looking for young and talented players (especially "homegrown" ones) then Spurs is pretty much the first place one must look. Besides least we forget that what I am advocating with Spurs and other EPL clubs Man City did exactly with the Van Persie generation at the Arsenal (and we should have got Van Persie himself and Fàbregas too, it would have stopped United getting the title in 2012-2013 thats for sure), what Bayen do to other German clubs, Juventus with other Italian Clubs and what Real and Barcelona do to other Spanish Clubs, a strategy which has worked out quite well for those clubs for something you call a "silly suggestion".

You know for a user who hates United so much as to describe themselves as a Rag Hunter, its seems very ironic to you to support FFP, a boneheaded idea which funny enough favours clubs such as United.

In other words you can call them Rags till your blue in the face, but it will mean nothing if end grinding their way to a title and/or cup thanks to the consequences of our lack of depth at the latter stages of this season. Hence no fan of this great club should support FFP at all.
