Always liked him and always posted in his defence, thought it was all over for him when the straight swop for Kompany didn't happen, Pep gesturing to the stand last week and the comments saying he had lost patience with him made me feel sad for him and thought the critics had got what they wanted at last but fantastic to see him getting ready and imagining the match thread going nuts at the thought.
he played a great game and hopefully more to come, couldn't be more pleased for him

One of those games that shows just how dominant he'd be playing as a regular CB in a regular team. Can't believe half the premier league isn't banging our door down to get him, stick him in a team that doesn't ask their CB's to be playmakers or expect them to cover half the pitch on their own and he'd be getting rave reviews every week.

Exactly this. I’ve always said he would be perfect for many PL teams. Worth £20m easy in this league.

Was worried when I saw he was being brought on but he was fantastic. Hopefully with a run of games he will get even better.

Pep has got something out of him that we haven't seen since his debut against Chelsea. He came on and played his part today, got stuck in and won his headers.

Never thought I'd see the day but fair is fair he played well today when he came on.

If Kompany is out again, Mangala is going to have the chance to prove this is no one off. Could do with him grabbing the chance.
