I can't understand what Pep says

I have a degree in foreign languages, but I can't ever understand what Pep says. Nor could I understand our two previous managers.
Is it just me, or am I going deaf?

There's a little button on the remote. I'm currently upto 95 out of a hundred when Pep does his talking. I often ask Mrs Ewing, though, when I've heard someone finish talking whether they spoke in English.
