EFL Cup 10/1 Chelsea v Arsenal

Shows how much difference it makes for a team not playing in Europe. Liverpool nearly won it when they weren't and this Chelsea side won it last year. This Chelsea team is probably the worst I can remember for quite a while, no excitement to them at all.
They were a better side to watch last season, don't know why they switched from the 3-4-3.

Atkinson just showed why VAR won't work over here. He made his decision, refused to look at the screen and trusted Moss to tell him what happened.

PiGMOL don't want it and will fight every way they can to make sure it doesn't come in.
Of course they don’t want it, they are happy ruling over football and deciding when and how to enforce the rules.

Watching Chelsea attempt to get the ball beyond the half way line at the end there was painful.

As an aside aren't managers supposed to be automatically banned for calling or obstructing a VAR situation?

Mike Riley, that upstanding bastion of integrity and honest refereeing, said that he thought maybe 2% of decisions would be subject to review and correction.
I'm guessing that the 98% includes recognising that the captain called heads or tails correctly, all the players are wearing the right kit, that throw-ins are given when the ball goes out, etc. all those critical decisions.
Wonder if he's ever looked at his exemplar performance at OT when the Arse lost what would have been their 50th unbeaten game and thought what VAR would have made of it.
