Alexis Sanchez

It is always a massive blow if you lose out on a WC player for 1/3 of his value in this market. Sanchez would bring a different dynamic to the attack and give Sane more competition to constantly improve himself. Don't be deluded.
A third of his value? He's costing close to £50m apparently, how many 29 year olds are going for £150m these days? Not sure where this idea that he's world class have come from either tbh, the definition of that phrase seems to now stretch pretty far

Imagine if City had taken this ‘no overpaying’ stance when we were pursuing Kev. Bloody hell...
How d'you mean? We may have had that figure in mind before we got there. You can lowball an offer sometimes and try your luck. Other times you pitch it at a level the entices the seller to do business immediately. We may have done that in this case. The point is, if it goes above your valuation you should walk. Nothing worse than a bad deal where you pay more than you wanted to, makes you feel dirty, should never want anything that much.

My point is, what if Wolfsburg had quoted us £80M and we walked. In hindsight even £100M is justifiable for KDB. But we walked because £80M is outrageous, and then imagine us now without KDB.

Seeing that Higuain just went for £90m at age 29, right as the market truly went to hell. He is one of the top forwards in the game, that is pretty evident if you have watched him and other players in the same position these past few years.

Sorry to go off topic but what is the current contract situation with De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Sane and Sterling? If they are close to agreeing terms then surely that has some reasoning to why we didn't meet Sanchez's demands?
