I dunno, it just seems much more plausible to me that United are pushing ahead with a £180m deal because they actually want the player, rather than it being an elaborate ruse that went horribly wrong.
Look at it this way; if ManUre offered to match our offer for Sanchez, where dya think Sanchez would be more likely to be heading, Old Toilet or the Etihad?

If ManUre were a bigger draw than City, surely that's all they'd need to do?

We so need kdb to sign his extension the same day as sanchez signs for the rags, the back pages would be a thing of beauty.
Heres what you get for £260k hers what you get for £500k !

Sanchez will improve them and they will give us serious competition next season. Not too bothered about buying this month but we must bring in 3-4 top drawer player in the summer to keep ahead of the pack IMO.

And that’s the nail on the head , uniteds propaganda machine will be preparing his signing speech as we speak , more than likely without Sanchez speaking a word of it so we can see him twitching when asked about Pep and City.
“biggest club in the World “ “nobody can refuse united” “boyhood fan” will all be written into it.

When he’s running round like a headless chicken telling his new teammates gesturing them to press with him and pointing at opposing players will he realise united are not the fit for him that he thought, he’s made for a team like us or the scousers or a team like Arsenal if they had built a team round him.
Mourinho won’t change his style because Sanchez has signed-he’s made the most foolish decision of his career, he could have picked up a PL medal for playing 15 games ffs.

Fuck him-his loss.

He’d unquestionably have come to us if the offers were identical. I’ve never suggested otherwise? United had to offer a much bigger financial package as it’s a less attractive move from a footballing perspective.

They've certainly got themselves a great player but at what cost, if the numbers being thrown around are true for a 29 year old then they've made their bed for years to come so let them lie in it.

I don't think it just affects Utd though. They have raised the bar now in terms of wage structure. It'll affect their players when negotiating new contracts for sure, but it also affects all the other top clubs too. Sanchez is moving because he wants (and can get) more money elsewhere. What's to stop our top players agents pointing to Sanchezs wages when negotiating new deals?

Star players want wage parity with other star players.

So if wenger goes through with his threat of playing him and he gets an injury that scuppers the deal till summer, who will metdown first Arsenal fans or rags
