Probably nothing in this at all but I’ve had a feeling that Walker was (excuse the poor wording) ‘being held back’ and asked to do the basics. After watching the game back a few times it seemed like he was unlocked and allowed more freedom to make runs and dictate play. I thought he shined and looked a huge threat going forward.


If I’m gonna argue against myself here I’d say you dont want Walker making key decisions in final third when you have Kevin/dave/Sane so if it’s been by design then rightly so?

Should probably just shut up and just trust this pep fucker eh? ;-)

Well, I also think he's a superb signing. His pace and workload is a huge factor for different tactical options.
I can see some resemblance to Raz: pace is the weapon, but missing ball control to some degree.

Moaning on a high level, I often don't like his decision making going forward.
I think his team mates around him should offer him clearer passing options.
When he is rushing forward he also should learn to pass early and use his great pace without the ball to go for a 1,2
instead of running into a packed defense and stop.

Maybe the problem for him is, that sometimes he even is too quick and has to wait for his team mates.
Pep should develop several definite moves rushing forward to be more clinical on fast breaks (which we are not, sadly).

It's also great when he is breaking through midfield on his own in pace, but the clinical pass doesn't follow.

Anyway, I am happy with Kyle but there is some room to improve. Great signing.

What I noticed straight away against Basel was the disparity in speed against LBs - he looks fresh or simply has been reminded to use his acceleration to create additional space with the ball. After the first 2 or 3 times he did this, you could see defenders not pressing him as tightly as say they did Delph. This is invaluable

The only thing really he could improve is the Zaba style run inside the fullback. Superb signing.
