This is proper ‘istree’ you dippers. It’s not just a list of trophies won.

Yep. I know the 80’s were shit all round for attendances and you would often get big fluctuations on a week to week basis but considering Liverpool were reigning league champions and would go on that season to win it for the 3rd year in a row, as well as winning the European Cup and the League Cup, I find some of those attendances nothing short of astonishing. As I stated, City were in the 2nd division that season, finishing 4th and therefore didn’t get promoted. Yet our last home game of the season, despite being an utterly meaningless affair against Cambridge, still attracted a crowd of over 20,000. We also had two 40,000+ home crowds in the league that season against Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle. Liverpool were in the division above, won the league title, and guess how many 40,000+ league crowds they got at Anfield? That’s right - the same as us.

Strange that the Dippers never quote these type of statistics .

Don't things like that appear in their 'istree ?

WANKERS

It's easy to forget what a poor competition the old European cup was compared to the modern day Champion's League. They really shouldn't be classed as being of the same value.

Juve have 2 European cups,so you're equating their annual qualification for the CL as being a bonafied european giant and winning leagues every year in 2nd gear in a awful uncompetitive league.

They don't have the european cup pedigree yet,2 is the same as benfica porto and forest,Inter Milan have 3 European cups and juve trail them as italian winners of the European cup.

Real madrid (12 european Cups)
AC Milan (7 European cups)
Liverpool ( 5 european cup)
Bayern (5 European cups) won 3 in a row 74,75,76.
Barca (5 european cups)
Ajax (4 European cups) won 3 in a row. 71,72,73.

Those are the elite bonafied giants of european football and that's why these clubs wear the Uefa badge of Honour when they play in Europe, win it 3 years in a row or win it 5 times then you get that elite european status.

Well done Liverpool, but so what?

Blackburn Rovers won the FA Cup 3 times in a row and no other team has ever repeated that feat, are the current Rovers team a bona fide FA Cup giant? Are they bollocks.

History is important but it is in the past. King Kenny's silky skills and even more recently Stevie G's heroics are nice things to have happened for you and your club, but they have have no bearing on whether or not Hendo and Lovren are going to be good enough to win the trophy this season. To think other wise is overly romantic at best and outright delusional at worst.

This is a controversial view amongst many, including plenty of City fans, but one I wholeheartedly agree with. The notion that playing the champions of countries like Albania and Montenegro is harder (or equal to) playing the second placed teams in Spain and Italy is patently absurd, especially given how mutable national boundaries have been in Europe since the war. The Yugoslavian Champions must have comprised about seven different national associations; does that make the European Cup wins of Red Star Belgrade hold more or less currency?

Saying a knockout competition comprising the champions of each member of a UEFA is the best way to determine the greatest team in Europe is European football’s equivalent of the Second Amendment: dogmatic, anachronistic, illogical and ultimately misguided.

Liverpool are not part of the current european elite , your last Champs league win was 13 years ago , and you have struggled to even qualify for over a decade , its quite simple 'istree doesnt win football matches , did your nineteen league titles help you in 2014 ? No Dipper has any right to mention Juventus in any argument or make any comparison , THIRTY NINE.

Like the guy said arrogant mate to the tee. Now please fook off!

No of course not, me neither. it’s a nice discussion.

I just define a selling club as one where you sell your best players to anyone besides Barca/Real.
So when Arsenal sold RVP and Sanchez to United for example.

The last time we did that. Was Torres to Chelsea

Hahaha.....so it's not selling if sold to someone bigger??? FFS get real.

Now I'm really offended by this comment on RAWK!

Yep, the majority on Blue Moon are a thoroughly nasty piece of work.
The jibes and accusations of delusion go back and forth between Red Cafe and RAWK but their fans rarely stoop to disgusting levels.

No comparison as to who is the better fan community. Also says a lot about the scum nature of the moderators on Blue Moon as to how they allow so much bile and nastiness to pass.
That was me. Sorry.
