Think it was Stones that played the hospital pass to Barkley. Goes to show that this passing out from the back is so difficult with teammates not practising it with each other regularly.

We've deserved this tbh as we've been utterly wank all game. Southgate just doesn't know how to coach a team to actually play football in open play, he's never shown any signs of it.

That's the more worrying part. Not the fuck ups, but the inability to look anything like a coherent football side.
Probably down to the lack of decent English players. That midfield that started would get the run around, in the chanpionship.
The lack of bite in this side, is alarming. It's alright closing space down but what about giving opposition players all the time, to pick any pass they like.
Good job the Dutch weren't that great, really.

Limited players isn't really the International managers fault (unless he is omitting obviously better alternatives), but not implementing a system to progress the national sides game is.

You might be right but he was a fuckup as well tonight.

The thing is De Ligt has had games this season where he makes mistakes but you can see he doesn't make them twice, and he doesn't let them effect him. Has a habit of making up for them at set pieces too, did it against Juve and Spurs.

Stones...you could see his head go completely. He seems a million miles away from the John Stones that Pep told the press has "more balls than all of you"
