Hobbies for the middle aged man

I have just built 2 airfix planes, painted them and all that jazz (First models in maybe 55 years. I got these from Lidl for £7 each but these are the 1:72 models, you can get 1:12 that cost a fortune considering it's moulded plastic.

Those kits are how I got back into the hobby about fours ago, it’s a smashing way to get stress levels down. It’s amazing how with a bit of patience you can improve. Just finished this, it’s a Tamiya kit so the fit is a dream. Think the kit cost me £15 or so, build took about 4 weeks on and off, just about another 200 kits in the stash to go at!

Write a book and publish it via Amazon.
Most people have at least one novel in them and they take ages to write. Or write about your experiences following City, or whatever.

Modelmaking of one kind or another can also keep you very quiet for a very long time.

Buy some acrylic paint, brushes, pallet knives and a canvas and have a go at abstract art.
The good thing is you don't have to be 'good at art' to have a go and you might end up with some pleasing results.
There are a lot of youtube videos on ideas and techniques.
Play some of your favourite tunes and let the creativity flow.
It's very relaxing and therapeutic.

As Mr Snorky stated about fishing, how da fuck does open water swimming fit the OP's request for indoor hobbies ?

Just askin'

Some people just need a bit of encouragement, I don't know the OP personally.

Getting outside is better than anything, if mobility allows this.
