Match Thread | Man City vs Inter - CL Final (10/06/23)

They look like the fittest side ive ever seen City play. Unreal levels of running.
Luckiky theyve not combined it with quality.
We've had a couple of chances. Forced them to make saves. Can improve 2nd half.
Come on City!

Pretty poor so far. Dias has been great, and Bernardo and Stones are showing a bit of urgency. But the rest are all well short. Rodri been especially poor, Gundogan doing nowhere near enough either.
Tactically they‘ve been good, esp. the first 20-25 mins. But we had chances to break through them - just let down by poor touches, poor passes, poor decisions.
If we can up it by 15-20%, we‘ll win, fairly comfortably. But whether we can, I’m not sure - nerves have obviously got to a fair few.

They blocked passing lanes in the middle, so our MF is pretty muddled. Our game on the wings is non-existent, Haaland never shines against back three. I hope for better second half.

Everyone needs to remember it's the Champions League final and not against Everton in the Premier League.

We will play better in the 2nd half. We are just shocked at Inter pressing us. I'm glad it's half time as we can now implement a new game plan.

Inter will not manage to press like that for more than 65 minutes.
We have seen that anyway in the last 10-12 minutes of 1st half. So things will get better.

But we must go out with the mentality that this will be a dogfight. And that there is no need to win 3-0 or 2-0 to prove we are much better or we were the favorites for a reason. We just need to win!
So get out play much more freely and even extra time is not disaster.

Fucking hell. Can't believe it's happened to Kev again. Pitch is a disgrace.

Need a bit more urgency from all involved 2nd half, including our fans who you can't hear at all on TV (might not be a fair reflection).
