Totally agreed. And considering we usually line up with 3-4 central defenders each game, I think we could accommodate him.

I think it worked really well against Newcastle, as a surprise disruptive tactic. They clearly weren't expecting him to play in there. I don't see him playing that role regularly, at least not for a while. Don't think he has the fitness for it, or the ability to protect the ball reliably.

Like when Foden was breaking through, I find myself checking the teams hoping he's in the eleven.
