I think the biggest driver is overcoming the stupid rule that stops games being broadcast live at 3pm on the day in the country where the game is being played - if they would stop doing that I think you'd get more people coughing up

We were sold entertainment in a digital format and some people take advantage of the loopholes that will always be there. The genie is out of the bottle and the only way to pop it back in would be for SKY and BT to stop selling their product to every country where they can't control it.

You're right but the point still stands. Flooding the world with the rights to screen it doesn't make it easier for them to control it.
