Instead of posting your usual bollox, I'll ask you the same question as I put to cibaman - where would you find the money from to meet the crisis in funding for the NHS,schools, police, social care and other public services?
I would not like to impinge on your propensity to hog the market when it comes to talking bollox, Leonard,
so I will politely decline your request that I answer chapter and verse your lefty wish-list.
I see your NHS, schools, police, social care and other public services, and raise you with your proposals for trident submarines
cruising around with no deterrent factor whatsoever on board, No controls on immigration, borrowing £500 billion and paying for
a manifesto that looks like it was drafted by Dianne Abbotts maths teacher.

Mid 2000's.

Bank Holidays (only in the retail/service sectors) were now mandatory to be worked. We work half (minimum) and the other half are given as an extra week so we get 28 days instead of 21. Soudns great, but the point of Bank Holidays is to be with family and friends. Kind of pointless to have an extra week off (on lowest weekly hours) in the middle of October when all your friends are working.

It'd be nice to have the option, is what i'm trying to say. For example since April i've worked every single Bank Holiday weekend with no option to request it off unless using my holiday entitlement, which kind of defeats the purpose, and they are usually denied since it's seen as the 'busy' period. It tends to go up on the wall that all holiday request for the bank holiday weekend are blocked. At best we can swap shifts which means we get the day off, unpaid.

I worked in the retail sector from the 80's (timpsons shoe repairers) and we always worked most bank holidays back then. Only guaranteed days off people got then was Sundays until the Tories changed that.

Ive still not forgiven Brown for cutting corporation tax for big buiness while raising it for small ones at the same time and claiming credit for his tax cutting measures.

Financial genius Brown was. Remember, he ended the cycle of boom & bust :-D

False. Hitler implemented Keynesian economics and huge infrastructure projects. It was big state and massive public spending. The exact opposite of small state laissez-faire capitalist ideology.

From a economics point of view he was very socialist and incredibly successful.

If he'd managed to stay away from war and genocide then he'd have likely have gone down as one of the most successful leaders of the 20th Century whilst using left of centre economics.
Yet major German companies thrived under hitlers regime ( VW for one ) and still thrive today ?

There's no such thing as a rate that HMRC want. During every budget statement the Chancellor announces a whole raft of specific taxes and allowances that means that tax rates will vary from sector to sector, business to business. That's why its so difficult to differentiate between "acceptable" tax avoidance (taking advantage of tax incentives deliberately put in place by the government) and aggressive tax avoidance (exploiting loopholes).

Nonsence. There are corporation tax rates set by the government for business based on the profits they make. Its the HMRCs job is to collect those taxes but they are unable for most big business as they use off shore accounting tax havens etc.

If that's the case and it was that easy we would have zero tax revenue, because all companies and people would do it.

Oh ffs. VW was founded by the fucking Labour Group (Nazi trade unionists). Look them up. Also read this:

In 1934, with many of the above projects still in development or early stages of production, Adolf Hitler became involved, ordering the production of a basic vehicle capable of transporting two adults and three children at 100 km/h (62 mph). He wanted his German citizens to have the same access to a car as the Americans.[7] The "People's Car" would be available to citizens of the Third Reich through a savings plan at 990 Reichsmark ($396 in 1930s U.S. dollars)—about the price of a small motorcycle (the average income being around 32 RM a week).[9][10]

Despite heavy lobbying in favor of one of the existing projects, it soon became apparent that private industry could not turn out a car for only 990 RM. Thus, Hitler chose to sponsor an all-new, state-owned factory using Ferdinand Porsche's design (with some of Hitler's design constraints, including an air-cooled engine so nothing could freeze). The intention was that ordinary Germans would buy the car by means of a savings scheme ("Fünf Mark die Woche musst du sparen, willst du im eigenen Wagen fahren" – "Five marks a week you must put aside, if you want to drive your own car"), which around 336,000 people eventually paid into. However, the entire project was financially unsound, and only the corruption and lack of accountability of the Nazi regime made it possible.

The very definition of state sponsored left wing economics.

As an aside, companies are allowed to thrive under left wing policies.

You're getting rather confused on the last few pages aren't you.
