Why haven’t Manchester City become the "super club" they should be?

what a load of shit, another reason to be negative press... Whats good, whats big, whats nice whats super ?

If we won the Pl three years on the run and smashed a few trophies it would be boring, cant do right. City are one of the big boys, its not just trophies in the cabinet, you look at the bigger picture and ffs I don't mean attendance which is another disillusioned stat !

This project backed by our owners that don't just sit there taking money or failing to invest, is long term not just 6 years.

A super club club like Bayern / Real / Barca ( there is not a current English club that touches those 3 over the last 10 years ) can only be judged over a long period of time. I look at the turn around at city from the Mancini days, since then few in England better our stats and "nobody" has facilities across all boards as good as ours. Another thing, ive f'ing enjoyed every season since mancini became manager, it has been fantastic so who gives a toss what some reporter or wanabee punter thinks !
Nail squarely on head

Whether because of FFP, bad buys or more probably a mixture of the two, we had our foot on the other clubs throats and we didn't go for the kill and allowed them all back into it.

The club didn't back Bobby after 93-20 PRE THE EQUALISING EFFECT OF THE NEW TV DEAL !!

We missed the opportunity of a lifetime when we had everything in our favour.

Do things when you can NOT when you must !!

The money we've wasted & the opportunities we've missed since then put Bobbies management style into a much clearer perspective.

So does the career path of those who have,or would've left. Hart,Lescott,Richards,Mario,Johnson,Nigel Nasri etc etc.

Some of the others might have had their egos bruised but would never had found better contracts even if the club agreed to transfer them.

The club were intimidated by Bobbys success & popularity & what impact that could've had on their long game pursuit of Pep.

How many fans wanted Bobby sacked on the Thursday before the Wigan final ???

Joe Hart stabbed Bobby in the back by demanding a transfer in mid week if Bobby stuck with Pants in goal. There was some treacherous behaviour that week.

Every manager we've had since has wanted rid of Hart. The club want rid so much they'll even let him go to the rags.

Bobby was undermined, betrayed & stabbed in the back by people who owed him an enormous debt of gratitude.

Disgraceful.

Forsa Mancini !!

Is this the same Mancini who was courting Monaco and Zenit, handed in his resignation the day after we won the league, refused to sell Balotelli so missed out on Van Persie and then sold Balotelli four months later, failed to acknowledge that FFP meant he could have any player at any price, obsessed over De Rossi despite it being blatantly obvious that he didn't want to play for us, criticised key players in public, sacked one of the countries leading sports doctors who actually managed to get players on the pitch, and also alienated every single influential person at the club up to and including Sheik Mansour? And that's not to mention winning the league by the skin of our teeth despite having the strongest squad in England and two years of performances in the Champions League that ranged from bang average to piss poor.

I will be eternally grateful to Mancini for his achievements, his style, and his affection for the club but the idea he was the victim of some heinous conspiracy is utterly ludicrous.

Why we haven't become a super club is complete straw man. Overall we've done as well or better than any other Premier League team since 2010 and we play in a league that actively hinders the ability of English clubs to succeed in Europe. Even if the team we are playing are utter shite every game is still a physical battle (e.g. Middlesbrough away in the cup).

Just read the article and what a load of Shiite.

Focusing on City when you could easily have done articles on:

Why haven't Liverpool won the league in over a generation
Why have Arsenal had a decade of repeating seasons
Why are the rags the most expensively assembled yet instantly forgettable team of all time

Yet instead they focus on our Facebook followers!!

These hacks will come to realise soon that City and Chelsea will have a strangle hold on football for years to come, look at the youth, look at the Womens game, we're investing on and off the pitch the old media darlings are not. I sincerely hope we don't give the hacks the steam off our piss, let them write about how great the good old days were when Taggart used to bully the league and the refs, or when Mourinho set the worst unbeaten run of all time

Take a bow. The fantasy myth making nonsense around Mancini and the summer of 2012 has reached the point where I have to question the sanity of some of the people who are still bleating about it.

fantasy myth making nonsense

Just about sums the post up nicely.

Time has proven it was a huge mistake getting rid of Mancini and appointing Pellegrini, its not even up for debate.

I find it strange that there are still blues are so entrenched in their positions they are still making up stories about Mancini to try and justify the fact they got it so wrong.
