Ah my bad. Still 7 into 3 without mentioning Tosin, Denayer and Mangala who are all still our players. Granted at least two will be sold.
There's Roberts to consider and the path for the youngsters such as Diaz and Sancho looks near impossible
So Stones, VK, Otta, Walker, Mendy, Kolorov, Mendy and most want another centre half means 8 into 3 in that case.
I know Mendy is good but not so good he takes up 2 spots!
So 11 into 6/7 for attacker and midfielders. Yaya and Dinho won't play every game. Gundogan has been injured for a while (gradual increase in games for him). Young lads will get rotated.
7 into 3/4 for the defenders. Kolarov will be back up. Bonucci/Laporte could mean selling Otamendi.
So many scenarios but I'd be happy with those numbers.

The reason why we've fell short these past two seasons is because we've been in 3/4 competitions until towards the very end but we don't have the squad depth to cope. We've had a starting 11 and one or two capable of filling, if we dive deeper into the squad we come up way short. What we'll have next season is a genuine squad, one where quality barely if at all drops regardless of who's playing.
Pep is an amazing man manager, there won't be anybody in the squad that doesn't know and isn't completely on board with not starting every single game. Sanchez, Aguero, Jesus, Sane and Sterling for what will predominantly be 3 positions with the option of Bernardo and KDB, and possible Roberts as further cover. Bernardo, KDB, Silva fighting for 2 positions, perhaps sometimes one with the option of playing Gundogan there and Gundogan, Yaya and Fernandinho for one maybe two positions with possibly Delph and/or Garcia and/or Fernando as the backup option.
That's a quality squad and one that doesn't badly miss something if one or more players are missing for whatever reason. That's what we've needed and that's what it looks like we're finally going to get. We need to stop looking at the team as our 11 best players and a few alternatives and instead as a squad that will interchange on a game by game basis where teams will be picked based on form and the opposition we're coming up against rather than a definitive starting 11.
