It's Quiet - a new dawn

Well the Cubans backed down, so...

Actually it was the Russians that backed down, not the Cubans
And we all have a lot to be thankful to Vasili Arkhipov for (Google him)

The Americans also backed down and removed the missiles they had placed in Turkey before the soviets placed any in Cuba. The Americans just managed to keep that part a little quieter and made it look more like a victory for themselves rather than both sides realising war was not what they wanted. None of this obviously helped by the ridiculous Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and their ridiculous Doomsday Clock - although far closer to midnight now.

Levy holds all the cards. Walker signed a contract extension not too long ago and it's a world cup year coming up so Walker isn't gonna go on strike if Levy refuses the move. We either pay whatever he asks for or we move on to another target.

We knew Levy would hold out for maximum profit so we must have allocated 50-60 million for him?

this is taking the cryptic transfer news a step too far, stick to youtube music clips pls

I've been on holiday for 2 weeks. where are we upto?

Sanchez seems to be on track. Walker seems like a matter of time, Mendy seems to just be haggling over the final fee. Bertrand is a target but we've not heard much else.

And we might be getting Dani Alves for £5m as a second RB. It's been in all the papers here and in Italy, seems quite likely.

Tolmie got very excited on Friday as apparently there were some break through developments over our key targets, and has said he might have an update today.

Can't comment because haven't seen enough of Semedo. Walker looks over priced but the market is crazy. I think we'll be reluctant to walk away - given Walker has clearly got one foot out of the door but we can't let Levy take the piss. Set a limit and a deadline and throw the ball in Levys court and let Walkers agent do the work.
I think it's going to be similar story to Sanchez. It will drag on until the final days before the window closes. Good news is Sanchez doesn't need time to adapt to Pep's style, however, Walker needs as many pre-season minutes as possible as he's not really known for his ball playing ability.

Semedo would be a better fit for Pep's style and help us in Europe, given the similarities in playing out from the back (not to mention he used to play Ederson), but then there's home grown player aspect that needs to be considered.

We can't sign Semedo + Alves without having issues with our foreign player quota making the signing of one of Mendy or Sanchez impossible. On that basis alone I think the story is bollocks. Walker + Bertrand will both be City players this summer.
