English tax

Annoys me when our own fans hold the price tax against them through out the season

Buy them and let other use it as a stick to beat them with

45m is a good price in today's money. Best right back in the league he's just hit his peak. Stones and Sterling were around 50m, a 33 year old Bravo 17m so why is Walker expensive?

I'm sure Levy has always had a price in mind. City probably came in with a typical first low offer and Levy the opposite. Levy will be more interested in bonus' and a sell on clause that the original fee

Dani alves throws a spanner in the works though. Spurs won't mind keeping him but Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters are more than capable of stepping up

When it comes to Manchester clubs people want to milk it more because that's where the moolah is. No one can blame Levy for wanting the best for Spurs he's an astute businessman. He normally leaves his business late anyway so not sure how long this will drag out

Levy is a good negotiator no doubt about that. Having said that is he shooting himself in the foot by asking for such a large amount for Walker? When Spurs go to approach the likes of Porto for their RB (and other clubs) surely they'll see the Walker transfer fee and look to increase the cost of their right-backs too?

Stones and sterling have age on their side, Bravo was 17 million euro so you're talking 15 million sterling a 1/3 of the walker price. Walker is worth no more than 25 million in today's market, simply add on 10 million due to his English passport and its a fair(ish) deal. £45 million is taking the mickey though.

Trippier has become the new Ibe.

Bullshit. The lad is very solid and has a proven track record at this stage.Ibe was nothing more than a prospect when the dipper spin began.

Trippier is a guy who played ~9 league games in 2 years before Walker told them he was leaving, and every single one was because Walker was unavailable.

He is a player Pochettino has only ever used in league cup or Europa league games when he's chucking out the second string and doesn't care about the result.

The idea that Trippier is an able replacement who will step up and fill in for Walker, without much of a drop off (he's even a better crosser!!) is complete and utter bullshit, it's come about because of a couple of good performances against shite opposition at the tail end of last season, but he got obviously exposed against any decent winger.

If you want to see the difference just watch the most recent United game, where Anthony Martial looks world class against Trippier and bang average/inivisible against Walker.

Pochettino knows it, at least, which is why he's looking to spend 30m on Perriera if Walker leaves.

Brilliant post. Walker is infinitely better than Trippier.

Agree with this. Trippier is ok. That's about it. He's become a better player because we are interested in Walker. He has 1 England cap at the age of 26.
