Now I love Star Wars, but in the interest of ballance a thread on this other iconic space series should exist as I am also a big trek fan.

Maybe it's the fact ST is pretty much set in a possible future and in a socialist society, but always loved this show.

The original series still stands the test of time and many of the technolgical ideas have become reality, also it gave us much loved chara tors and the greatst spaceship captain ever.

TNG was a bit dull at times and geordie and data and the holodeck were annoying, but it gave some great stories at times.

Voyager - was back to OS style in many ways and very enjoyable.

DS9 - star trek during a war and again very enjoyable.

Enterprise - strong story arcs and nice ties to the OS and formation of federation.

The movies - as with SW some good some ropey(the final frontier), normally it's said all the odd numbers were average while the evens were good and it holds weĺl.

As with SW 2 very strong movies in The Wrath of Khan and The Umdiscovered Country, and in my personal opinion Khan just edges empire as my favourote Sci-fy film of the 2 genres.

The reboot, all 3 films are enjoyable and good though into darkness fucked about with the Khan storyline so is the worst for me.

On the whole another strong franchise and the OS still gets a watch in my houseshold regulary.

Live long and prosper mooners

I Could only ever accept Jean Luc as Captain (post original). Don't ask me why, but TNG will always be the Star Trek i can re-watch....maybe it was written for my generation and that is what makes it more my show

The new series 'Discovery' looks a bit different......I think they are trying to be a tad too PC.Time will tell.

Voyager was my favourite series of them all, mainly because of the story and their quest to get home. As for the holodeck, I loved that whole premise as it gave some great random episodes like the ones with the hirogen and ww2.

Jeri Ryan helped too.

Did't mind the holodeck as such, TNG seemed to over use it in later series rather than actually go anyway off ship, that put me off TNG after a while, DS9 and voyager with it's more ballance between action and talking was much better (and yes seven of nine helped).

Also geordie and his fucking diagnostics of everything, Scotty just fixed the bleeding ship at least.
