The transfer news and gossip suggests it's not a priority as the only real link has been to VVD, yet if you look at our options in central defence it should be the priority once the full backs are signed. If Kompany got injured we'd be in trouble.

The lack of links makes me wonder if we are going to go into the new season with Kompany, Ota and Stones. That would make the Sanchez bid even more difficult to understand.

Why is replacing either Otamendi or Kolarov in anyway linked to Sanchez, unless you think we should have 5 centre backs in the squad ?

So replace Kolarov with somebody better don't get in an extra centre back and leave us short up front, if Aguero is injured we have Sane Jesus Sterling that's it. Don't say Kelechi he's obviously off, and Bernardo is there to play midfield with Silva and KDB.

Sometimes targets are known early other times not.
In this window we only found out about Bernardo the day before we signed him and Alves in the last week or so.
In the two previous summer's we have not found out about Bravo and Otamendi till relatively late.
It sounds like we have looked at VVD. I certainly wouldn't assume that we are not looking at centre backs because of the lack of specific rumours.
Meantime I'm hoping we are going to get Sanchez as well. the
