If City was into overseas PR driven unveilings that would've been an ideal situation (huge price tag, England international, forced a move from a rival) but it was a regular announcement from what I remember...

Nope. it makes absolutely zero sense from a commercial sense. That's two huge pieces of news that will generate interest and keep the club in the headlines for a while individually, why the hell would they want to lessen that impact, especially when they're out in America to promote the brand.

Medical early next week Mon or Tuesday then with a signing on Wednesday. If the medical was scheduled for Wednesday they would have said middle of the week. :-)
