Assuming we had no say in the scheduling of the tournament, I think the days where we existed solely to beat united are long behind us now. The idea that we'd disrupt the manager's preferred return schedule and shoe horn more games in before in the hope we'd stand a better chance in what is essentially an exhibition match sounds a little bit small time. It's nice to win them but these games are a just part of a process designed to get us ready for the actual season and so long as they do that I don't care about the result.
That's easy - you simply say we don't play them till we're not cold and have played a few games.
It really isn't rocket science , let alone rocket engineering.
As to managers schedule Utd fans wouldn't tolerate , it - so why shouldt we?
