Mbappe is on record as saying he will not be pushed into the obvious transfer. Make of that what you want but he said he wants to play regularly and he wants to learn.

Id say we could offer both but then again so could Monaco who to be fair have done a fantastic job with the lad and there is no reason why that wouldn't continue for another season other than the side in which he flourished is now being broken up.

Madrid is the obvious go to club, we all know that but with Pep we have a hell of a chance of getting him imo.

Mbappe just has to look at pep's signings, Jesus and Sane, young lads playing and improving under pep. This is what he wants, to play and improve his game, can't see him doing that Madrid. Pep and his way gives us a good chance of getting him

if Mbappe goes to Madrid with world record transfer, he will unsettle lot of their superstars.
imagine some of them get dropped to 18 years old kid. Mbapped will get isolated on and off the field.
at his age, Mbappe needs a young team to grow together.
sign for City, develop under Pep, and goes to Madrid when he's at peak.

So use us as a stepping stone? No thanks.

I think this will be how it is 'sold' to him. That he has a long career and to plan it. Coming to the Premier league at this point will toughen him up and build strength. Its at that point we put a 500m buyout clause in the small print.... :-)

Why would he do that? Once he is at his peak we will be serial CL winners :-)

People don't see that City are not a club used as a stepping stone like the rags. Believe it or not City's ambition is just like the super elite clubs like Barcelona or Madrid, if not bigger and that's where City are heading. Did any City player leave for Madrid or Barcelona? Aguero was linked, as well as Kompany a few years back from the top of my head. But no one left because we are dining at the very top of the table now.

I don't think Mbappe will be the same player next year if he stays at Monaco, he is playing a dangerous game. Monaco have sold three key parts of their team with potentially more to come, in particular the service from Mendy and Silva will be a huge loss. If he has a bad year next year, who will want to go for him? City and Madrid potentially will have different targets.

I understand he would like to show some loyalty to Monaco but I think he is in a unique situation whereby he needs to go now or potentially get left behind.
