Regarding Badstuber, how about his injury record !

We don't need another Gundogan.

He missed 12 games total last season and only 2 since the start of October. He seems to be over his problems. As I said low risk high reward. No point in wasting 30 odd mil on a player to be 4th choice CB and still be in trouble if 2 full backs are missing. Free transfer worse case his injury luck continues and we are out his wages best case we have a quality player who can cover multiple positions.

Can't understand why we don't just keep mangala. The guy cost £42m .... he is young and may develop. Who knows whether he can improve, but certainly good enough as a 4th CB.

He's a decent backup defender not sure that he's a good enough footballer though for what Pep wants.

I guess that's the key. We want someone who can slot in and allow us to continue playing the same way, rather than someone who might mean we have to change our style of play to accommodate. Plus it might be the case that Mangala wants first team football.
