Jogger pushes woman in front of bus

Did he intend to push her to the ground and cause her injury, or did he intend to push her to her death in front of a bus he couldn't even see? Proving the latter beyond reasonable doubt would be next to impossible. I'd have thought Section 18 GBH would be more likely.

Not sure its just about intent. Perhaps it could be agrued that he acted in such a reckless manner that he should have realised that death or serious injury could result?

What an odious tw@t , I hope he gets prison and it ruins his life.

One of them barged into the back of me once , then turned around staring at me as if it was my fault, no apology of course.

I certainly agree it could be argued both ways, which is my point really. Why would the CPS take a chance on an attempted murder charge when they could have him bang to rights on a "lesser" charge that would carry the same punishment?

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. The guy is a **** and needs to do serious time for what he did.

There isn't a cycle path though, it's the sunlight on the pavement. It's clearly a malicious act and he's gone out of his way to commit it. Not knowing the bus was coming isn't a defence either as anyone that frequents that area would know that buses are coming past every few second. It's be the equivalent of pushing someone into a busy road and saying they didn't think a car was coming.
Oh yeah I see it is a shadow now. I still don't think he's intending to literally throw her under the bus but know that isn't a defence

From what you can see it looks like a game of who will move first, no one does so he barges into her. She then falls into the road. Brilliant driving by a bus driver though. Imagine Richard Ashcroft but dressed like a ****. And running.
Looks to me like he actually has to move towards her and gives her a push it was no problem for him to avoid her, but for the alertness of the bus driver she'd have lost her life. I'm afraid he rightfully deserves a lengthy gaol term to think about his stupidity.

Surely they could easily tracks his movements by CCTV that day. Would have been hundreds of cameras near the surrounding area.

The only thing left would be 'reckless endangerment' which would be a shoulder barge forcing the woman into the same position.

He shoved her outwardly with his open hand and outstretched arm and intentionally into the road when there was plenty of space to go round.

'Attempted manslaughter' is not a thing as it would be a premeditated act.

How could it be anything less than 'attempted murder'??
He will be charged with assault
