Not saying Evans is Pogba-level, obviously, but I think the argument of "Well they didn't want him, so he must be shit" doesn't really hold up.

Sometimes not always. The fast fullbacks/wingbacks will make a difference. Who do suggest as a fast centre half then that will reduce our susceptibility to the counter ? Mangala is rapid but not good enough. Remember him at home to Liverpool the season before last!And where are the fast full backs normally positioned when we're attacking? Up near the opposition box,not exactly in place to stop a fast-paced counter.
