That might have something to do with the fact that they haven't been up to the required standard to command a place in the first team.The Academy was a great idea. Pity we only pay lip service to the recruits that graduate! Has anyone been given an extended run in the first team?

The main upside to this transfer is that some red will have had Jonny's name tattooed on him somewhere, hopefully on his forehead!! :)

Are you saying 20 million is cheap for Jonny Evans? This signing has Sinclair, Delph, Rodwell written all over. We are already struggling to offload Delph, we struggled with Sinclair and Rodwell. Now we are going in the same direction unless City actually is happy to send the player on loan next year and pay half of the wages.What 'best defender in the world' would be happy to be 3rd or 4th choice centre back and that we could get for around £20m?
