So they definitely don't get any money for the league position prize pool but this tweet seems to suggest they won't be getting money from any performance related prize pool either.

It says market pool, not prize pool.

Money is:
(a) 'prize money' for winning/drawing/progressing - 12.7M euros for making the group to start with.
(b) market pool share, - split 40/30/20/10 between the top 4 - this is the market pool, a %age share of cash based on the relative TV deals

City get 20% of the market pool for finishing 3rd.

Will still get 18.7M euros from the group, plus 1.5M euros a point, so 35M euros quite probably.

Market pool 3 seasons ago was 22M roughly for the 3rd place team.
