To be serious mate, I wouldnt take one of my guitars on a plane unless it was in an aluminium flight case with some foam around it (inside the case), I have flown like this to gigs and all has been ok.
Another suggestion might be to order a fake guitar from Ali Express in China and take that instead of the real thing, I have a fake strat which is actually pretty good, I bought some 2nd hand pickups and changed them as the ones it came with were crap.

I remembered something alse but my minds gone a bit fuzzy now :)
