It really doesn’t matter who brought up the subject of history.
You decided to run with the notion that certain unwelcome parts of your club’s history could be written off as just ‘the past being the past’ which could just be put behind you whilst cherry-picking the successful parts to use as a cheap jibe at other fans.
If you want to shout about your glorious trophy-strewn past then you have to accept the facts about every other aspect of your history or you just end up looking like a revisionist and a hypocrite.

However let's not all go overboard critiscising the Liverpool fan.
He's not been disrespectful.
This forum is more interesting when we get reasonable debate from opposition support.

Yes we all boo certain players and certain incidents in a match.

Oxo and Bovril have history so do Preston north end and Notts County. Liverpool have history in European Cup one year recall Ooulu Pallarosa or something champions of Finland dumping them out. Also history of byes in early rounds of said comp.

On the point about Salah on the previous few pages, he's very wasteful but has 12 goals in 17 games. Good form and a good start that's gone under the radar a little.

That’s just the point. If the past was the past - so be it but LFC seem to want some sort of Stalinist perspective. Remember Hillsbourough - quite rightly but totally bury Heysel. Both of these events are tragic and both should be respected and remembered. I applaud the campaign to ensure the truth came out re Hillsborough but equally LFCs failure to properly face up to what happened at Heysel is wrong. At both Hillsborough and Heysel - people lost loved ones and in both cases their families deserve dignity, respect and the TRUTH.
