Greggs replace Jesus with sausage roll

Can't see the fuss myself. People have been "eating God" for years in the form of the communion wafer. At least that's what Catholics and many High Church Anglicans believe. So therefore it is not inherently blasphemous to see God as a piece of food.

Having said that, whoever devised this campaign is a plonker as it was bound to offend some people. Though we are rapidly approaching the point where anything offends someone, so maybe advertising will have to die.

Have any vicars or priests issued the Christian equivalent of a fat-wa against Greggs? Probably quite appropriate for quite a few of their customers.

Imo the sausage roll was a poor choice to replace Jesus in the nativity. What would the ideal pastry have been? Personally I am fond of the sausage and bean pasty but I am not quite sure that it is divine.
