Surely if that was the case he'd have been on the bench instead of Mangala?He may have been fit for a while but why break up a winning defence?

Keeping Vinny fit is going to be absolutely crucial from now until Christmas. With the emergence of a new leader in John Stones we find ourselves with two excellent organisers, which is something that we lacked last season. With either in the side we are solid, but with both and KW and BM next season that's as good a defence as you're likely to find.

Realistically its difficult to imagine him playing in all the matches over the next 6 weeks so I would play him in the league games only and possibly rest him Southampton midweek.
Another great aspect of this seasons run is our position should give us a strong bargaining position in the January transfer window to sign another defender with a possible Premier league title to look forward too if the current trajectory is maintained.
