Foden is one thing but tosin in defence is another

it sounds like you have no faith at all in our young players. tosin is a good player and i honestly can't see us losing if he was in a strong side tomorrow. patience is a virtue as you say, but its at home, we are already through and its a against a poor feyenoord side imo. its the perfect opportunity. i will just leave it at that :)

Tosin is better suited to us than mangala is. Much prefer to see Tosin next to otamendi.

Otamendi is in the top five CBs in the league, cannot believe what I read sometimes slagging him off. Not counting Kompany (and sadly there's not reason we should count him at the moment) I would say only Azpilicueta and Alderweireld are better.

He and Mangala as a partnership were critical in our run to the Champion's League semi-finals and League Cup win in the same season and there's no reason why they can't play well together tomorrow night. Ederson is far better than Bravo these days so I expect Pep to choose him- it is, after all, Feyenoord in the UCL and not Rotherham in the League Cup. There's a difference between rotating a few players and playing a B team.

Left back- well, as Zinchenko is ineligible I would say Delph is probably going to have to go again, but that's not ideal. Mangala can play there, albeit not brilliantly from what I've seen. If Delph can play, I think he should, but he just came back from injury. I just don't see what choice we have except play Walker at right-back and Danilo on the left, but I think Danilo will be playing in his natural position on the right.

Toure probably should start because if he doesn't start here he really is just a cup player. In front of him I would imagine Gundogan is already on the team sheet and whoever is fittest out of De Bruyne and Silva will start next to him, I'm betting on Kevin.

Bernardo Silva obviously needs a game here, Sterling can probably play on the left and Aguero up top. Foden and Diaz could both make the bench... maybe. I hope so.

Tosin is a bit of a different matter. He seems to be quite prone to lapses in concentration or mistakes and as a defender he won't get much game time until that's ironed out. Not saying I like it, but playing him is a risk.

Sane Aguero Bernardo
Gundogan De Bruyne
Toure
Zinchenko Mangala Otamendi Danilo
Ederson

Bravo, Walker, Tosin, Fernandinho, Foden, Brahim, G.Jesus

  • Sterling rest after his backstrain
  • Delph rested being the only LB and injuryprone. Danilo can move to LB if Zinchenko struggles - tho with Sane on his side he won't need to get up and down as he did vs Wolves (where he visibly tired late on)
  • Silva rested ahead of busy schedule
  • Kompany obviously shouldn't be involved
  • Try and get a few goals then bring off Otamendi, KDB, Sane for the kids

Ederson, Danilo, Mangala, Otamendi, Walker, Gundogan, B Silva, Sterling, Foden, Jesus and Aguero.

Mangala needs game time and I thought he looked ok on Saturday.

Ok correct I'm getting complacent!
Don't worry I had to check after reading a post by SWP, couldn't believe we could win first 5 and still not be sure of winning the group, don't think that's ever happened before. Could be another record we set.
