funny how Lyon was a last resort "well, we have to pick someone" spinner in past tours, now he's a world beater. Shows how far England have declined from the Trott/KP era.

He has just got better at his craft I think.

yes, but comparatively our batting has dropped off a cliff. Plenty of nice, pretty stuff in the first innings as Swann said, but well outside off-stump that a top class batsman would have cut away all day and really knocked Lyon's confidence. Instead we sat in all day and waited for them to get bored and aggressive and then got out straight away.

If that wicket was say an offside decision reviewed on VAR in football I'd have expected it to be given as offside.

Maybe if Ali had been a bit more careful batting and taken into account he made a similar error a few balls earlier (with his swing not his feet) then we wouldn't have had to have the discussion.
