Forgotten Clubs

Gateshead were in Div Three (N) for some years after the war. As were South Shields before it.
More recently, Maidstone and Boston U.

City played Barrow in the F A Cup in Jan 1946, when the ties were of two legs. We won 6-2 (h) and drew 2-2 (a). The league was not "official" that season, but the F A Cup was.

I think if we played Barrow now it might be more than 6-2.

Did Newport County make a comeback, or have I dreamt that.
