4000 mile round trip. Weather is expected to be -1 celsius in Kharkiv. A draw would be good enough for Shakhtar and maintain our unbeaten run.

Is there any way of leaving them all at home whilst still getting the win?

The tweet above suggests he won't rotate the full team.

The best I could do whilst resting every player who'll start at United (prediction game could be fun) Zinchenko is not available (I think Pep will go stronger than the line up below):

---------------------Bravo
Danilo--------Tosin-----Mangala-----Davenport
-------------Gundogan------Yaya
Bernardo-----------Foden------------------Diaz
---------------Nmecha/Aguero

With the aim of playing the team below vs United:

---------------------Ederson
Walker-----Kompany-----Otamendi-----Delph
-------------------Fernandinho
-----------De Bruyne----------D.Silva
Sterling--------------Jesus------------------Sane

I just can't see him going that weak vs Shakhtar, think Otamendi and Sane might play in both.

Thoughts?

Leave all the lads due to play in the derby at home. Give them a days rest, maybe team building stuff and then they can all get together and watch the other lads playing.

I would like to see us pick a different formation that we could use when Mendy is back as an alternative, try something different. I'd also like us to pick Bernardo and Gundogan in their preferred roles and then just build the rest of the side around that, give them the opportunity to be the figureheads and play to their strengths.

A fresh game and a chance to experiment. I hope Pep is just putting the required comments out there and leaves Silva, Dinho, Kompany, Ota, Aguero, Walker, Sane and Sterling at home.
