Pep/Redmond incident - No Further Action.

Mourinho was sent off earlier this season when he put a foot on to the pitch late on in Manchester United’s 1-0 win at Southampton.

But the United boss said he was not surprised old foe Guardiola – who yesterday apologised for his conduct - did not suffer the same fate as him and see red.

Think trying to stop a player in game time is a bit different don't you...

Funny how this is taking a while to sort out, I guess any ban will apply not for west ham but for the following league game, whenever that is...

You have go laugh. Short of actually docking us points they'll try anything to stop us running away with it.

When the Lukaku decision was announced I joked that by the time we get to the derby they will have two of our players suspended and Pep watching from outside the Etihad.

Doesn't sound too far off it now. They froth at the mouth on every chance to stop us. How they fear us now.

Don't think he should be getting involved with opposition players in that kind of manner, and his own response suggests he agrees. There really isn't much more for him to explain though and banning him for it would be ridiculous.

I no were you're coming from.or the rag,,but he did it when the game was still being played Pep did it after the game finished..

The FA should have had a gig at The Embassy Club, could off taught old Bernard a thing or 2 about racialism & Sexism.

Nigel Pearson was given a stern talking to by the FA after he tried to throttle that Palace lad on the ground. He hasn't done that again. Pardew was the other manager. Big balls with Pellegrini, not so big with Pearson. Two of the great English managers.

Re: the tapping up element

There's an interesting excerpt from Pirlo's autobiography where he talks about wanting to play for Pep that may be relevant to some elements of this discussion.

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...iola-tried-to-sign-me-barcelona-autobiography

Basically for those that don't want to read it, Pep straight up taps Pirlo up. He has a coach summon Pirlo to his office and he tries to convince him to sign. In fact hedoes so successfully.

Personally I'm not sure he's tapping Redmond up, but I post this because it's not beyond Pep to do so, therefore it merits the current discussion of whether he has any stronger intentions than just simply paying him a compliment. He does very much seem like the kind of guy that would happily stroll up to a player after a game and tell him that he wants to sign him.

The question though is is that really a problem like some people might be saying? Another part of the article I posted seems to suggest that players do just as much tapping up as anybody off the pitch.

As many of you have suggested, I believe people are just looking for a story. First it was the Pep was insulting Redmond; except that got proven false quickly enough. Then it was Pep was too over the top and that it is a punishable offence. But then I mean players scream much harsher things in each other's faces and manhandle each other all the time and nobody bats an eyelid. And now that the dust has almost settled people are looking for a new story.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next reason Pep was apparently so animated and angry is that he realised he'll get stuck in the traffic on Alan Turing Way and he's got a chicken in the oven waiting for him at home.

Well he hasn't signed Rooney yet.
