Rafa Benitez

Maybe there’s an element of sympathy. Who would want Mike Ashley as their boss?

Also, I can’t recall him ever bad-mouthing City or acting the cnut, so there are juicier targets out there.

Surely he’s just treading water looking for a more rewarding role.

I'm curious to know why he gets a free pass.

7 defeats out of the last 8 games. The other was a draw against managerless West Bromwich Albion.

Plays negative football.

1 point worse off than they were at the same stage of the season 2 seasons ago. This was under McClaren who most see as a s### manager.

Yet some how he gets a free pass.

Can Bluemoon bring me up to speed on exactly why?
Shit squad that has had to deal with injuries to their only two worthwhile players (Lascelles and Merino). Plus he has to deal with that **** Ashley and the distraction of all the takeover rumours.

Dipper media love him because he fluked and stole a CL off Milan in 05.
Rag media love him because he was comedy gold and gave them the Dipper/Rag rivalry whilst allowing the rags to stay on top.

Then he failed everywhere since, came to Newcastle, spent a load in the Championship and only won the league on the last day. Then whinged he had no money despite spending a load in the Championship and other teams managed to get buy with the same or less.

A guy who constantly needs to spend money and the answer is always buy someone else, even if it messes up the team.

They seem to be paralyzed with not many good players. The takeover talk i reckon has half the players holding a "meh, fuck it" attitude. Given that, the press probably gave them a get out of jail free card this season. Well, until/if they get relegated then they will rip them a new one.

Their squad costs a lot more than a lot of other teams that supposedly have lesser managers.

You lost me at transfermarkt. They're right and the transfer fees paid are wrong and any evidence to the contrary is the devil's work...

I have a bit of formula in these situations - whoever hates or hated Rags and don't have a history of bitterness against us have a free pass from me.
