Eliaquim Mangala - 2017/18 performances

He's nowhere near as bad as some people are making him out to be. It just happens to be the fact that he is playing for a team who exposes his weaknesses like no other side would do.

If he was at a side like West Brom or United who regularly park the bus, then he would do a decent job. There would be no emphasis on him having to play out from the back and he would be exposed like his is for us.

We know he isn't Beckenbauer, and will make the odd Rick. However, when their giants came calling at set pieces, He was right there. Mangala is part of this team. We'll concede goals, we'll probably not go unbeaten, but we will take some beating.

Wrong. Completely wrong. He cannot defend. And you’ve given an excellent resume of why: lack of composure, poor passing. Both pre-requisites of a defender. Both pre-requisites of being a footballer. At any level. The bloke just hasn’t got it. And never will.An utter liability from day one.
IMHO he could be a good defender if the system suited him.
Look at Huth and Morgan in the Leicester side that won the title. Hardly the most gifted ball players but could do a good defensive job in the system Leicester employed at the time.

Awful last night, quite clear he does not have a long term future at City. However, he has played ok this season in some matches eg when he came on against the rags at the swamp. But unfortunately, when pressed he panics. Real shame but at the end of the day he is not good enough.

I actually think we will this team could break every record going if the main men stay fit

He plays Bravo enough said

This Guardiola guy seems to know his stuff. If the boo boys had had their way Bravo would have left at the end of last season .
Yet his goal keeping this season especially the penalty saves are the reason why we are in the semifinal of the Carabao Cup.
Maybe Pep can get players performing better than the boo boys can with their motivational observations.

Not exactly clambering over themselves to sign him though are they?

He's pretty much hit and miss this season. It didn't help that Stonesy kept putting him in pressure situations though. I'll be glad if we ship him out in the summer but he's been playing above the low expectations I have of him this season.
