Alexis Sanchez

It was well reported that they'd accept a £35m bid from us. I suspect United are offering Mkhiwhatever in a separate cash deal (that may well have a value of £0 as they need him off the books to fit in Sanchez).
They wanted 60m plus sterling from us in the summer. Arsenal are taking the piss !

Like many have said, the club would be in turmoil further down the line if they paid Sanchez the wages quoted. He shouldnt be a higher earner than KDB for example.

Totally the right thing to do by City. The stability of the squad is far more important, great player though he may be.

Does anyone on here honestly think City are going to rest on their laurels in the summer? Of course not.

Cant believe anyone is suggesting we go for that Micky fella. He makes Gundogan look hard-working. We already have B.Silva who cant get in the side, whats the point of adding more filler? We need a top striker.

Think we have done the right thing if a players word means nothing how can you trust him. His wife refused to go to Liverpool when he signed for Arsenal if Chelsea are serious she could well come into play again. Good player would have given us strength in depth but not improved the first 11.
Not improved the first 11 Ffs , are you serious ?

Re Ornsteins BBC tweet, in a delusional world, does it we have a slight, tiny-tiny chance if neither side cant agree on a deal? Just asking..

The bottom line is that while not cheap signing Sanchez now is a lot cheaper than signing Griezmann in the summer for example.
The alleged difference in wages being offered is 75k a week or roughly 4m a year. If he signs a 3 Yr contract that is 12m extra in wages. Hardly a game breaker when you consider Arsenal want 35m and any potential summer striker will be 100m.

So it is definitely about not wanting to break salary cap. If Sánchez were to wait until the summer I am sure we could give him 30m signing on fee and then his 275k a week salary.

That is the point some pundits don’t get for me. We have the money so we can afford to say no, even if it costs more in the long run we can afford to do it if we consider it to be better in the long term for us.
