The FA Cup (4th Rd ) - Cardiff (A)

Remember the last time we went there in the cup. Never again!

It’s the Cardiff City Stadium now and not Ninian Park. New site. They’ve cleaned their act up as a club.

Found the stewarding perfect at Wales v Georgia.

Went down as a teenager for the fa cup game where Nathan blake scored the winner.Remember the kickoff near the petrol station near Ninian Park and that getting ransacked.
Ended up on a coach that stopped off in Monmouth for the evening .
Ended up with some local girl in the pub with her tits out letting all the lads have a feel.

Great days.:)

A shit kicking on and off the pitch.

No ta.
The last time we played in the cup there, we took a right mob, got escorted round the pitch en mass about ten minutes into the game, at full time their lot poured on the pitch to approach our end, took one look and thought better of it.

Correct me if I’m wrong on this but didn’t the home stewards start wading in on us as well??

From what I can remember, that was in the seats to the left of us on the terrace. Pretty sure the stewards were fronting up City fans who were in those seats.

Have to agree it was the hairiest match I've ever been to. It wasn't helped by the fact that instead of doing a straight in and out job on the coach, we had this bright idea of my mate driving down there, arriving just after 11am and planning on drinking in the pubs near the ground, whereas unbeknown to us most City fans went on the piss in Newport instead. There were only 3 of us too. We parked up and went looking for a pub. We knew the Ninian would be home fans only and when we walked past on the other side of the road there were heads popping up at the window of the pub eyeing us up. None of us had colours on but they could tell we weren't Cardiff. Luckily no fucker came out but we nipped into a newsagents further down for a couple of minutes just in case they did. Came out of there and walked further down to a crossroads - some old lady had told us that there was a nice pub called The Corporation there. I'm sure it is a nice pub when there isn't a match on but as we walked up to it, about 30 of their loons went in. Good job we weren't a couple of minutes earlier! So we skipped that one and carried on until we found a small boozer called the Butcher's Arms. By now we knew we'd made a big mistake going straight to Cardiff but we knew the longer we spent on the streets the more vulnerable we'd be. We took a chance on the Butcher's and to be fair the Cardiff fans in there were bang on with us. We left there sometime after 2pm to walk up to the ground but as we got back up to the crossroads where the Corporation pub was, there must've been a mob of about 200-300 of the fuckers stood outside The Canton pub over the road from the Corporation. We had no choice but to dive into a sports shop for a bit. Eventually we came out of there but most of the mob was still over the road - we were stood in the doorway of the shop and the longer we stayed there, the more chance there was of drawing attention to ourselves so we had to make a move. In the end we winged it and walked straight past them smiling and acting all confident, then went up a side street, coming back out on to the main drag further up. How the fuck we managed to get past them without getting sussed is a complete mystery.

But it was far from over. Some fucker fronted me up right near the away turnstiles knowing he had safety in numbers behind him, but worse still was when we came out at the end of the match. About 90% of City fans turned left to go to the coach park but our car was parked in the opposite direction so we had to turn right and straight into an almighty kick-off. I've no idea how we manged to navigate our way through that but we did and once we were back in the car with Cardiff fans all round, my mate said to his brother who was driving "if any of them try having a go at us now, just run the ****s over!"

I must say it was a huge relief when we finally got out of there. I did hear some time later that City gave some of their lot a right kicking near a petrol station so it wasn't all one way.

I was at the FA cup game when Curle missed the penalty but I didn't see any bother outside the ground at all. Either must have been very lucky or pissed
