I just found that Simon Stone tweet very odd. I’m not really sure what point he was trying to make.

I think the point he has made is that he wasn't being very professional and let the fan in him tweet instead of the journalist.

only in the world of ragdom can us pulling out of a deal be a snub, but all media have slowly been adding this, went for the prestige club angle as well as the money

To be fair, he’s probably right there. They’ll want to go to City because they see a more progressive club, playing more attractive football with a superior coach. Players look to the future, rather than the past.
