Riyad Mahrez

Perhaps we have realized that 150m for Hazard is just way to much. And that Mahrrz offers better value.

Alvarez knows a lot about some aspects of the team but not others. He knows what players Pep selects but not so much about transfers. He didn't cover himself in glory during the Sanchez saga.
On the other hand, he was the first one to predict Laporte's signing.

Still seems short sighted to go in for someone now just because Sane is out for a couple of months, I know we have a chance to win 4 trophies this season but surely what we have already is decent enough?!
I think it may only be partly down to Sane’s injury—if the FFP 2.0 stories are accurate we may have decided we need to make two-three key signings in this window to ensure those new “rules” do not have any impact in us.

Hazard was a dream. Chelsea would never sell easily to us. Hazard will have lots of options. Leicester might sell and he would kill to play in this City team. Just not sure this near the end of the window.

he was poor last year and maybe wasn't motivated...this year he looks up for it

And that may be the biggest thing in our favour. Leicester know that if he wants the move to City and does not get it, he will be hacked off big time and his form is very likely to drop off.

Mahrez / his agent need to make it clear just how displeased Mahrez will be if he is denied a move to what plenty of people are referring to as possibly the best team in the world.

The player will probably have to bang a transfer request in and kick and scream a bit for this to get done in time.

Sam's article makes it sound like we might sign a marquee forward next summer. Even if we get Mahrez now. Which doesn't make sense unless Aguero leaves.

No way can we keep 6 top class forwards happy.
