Should tactical fouls become a red card offence?

Anybody who watched Peps Barca and Bayern must know that they stopped the opposition playing by tactically fouling. Are we talking violent tackles or the ones that stop play and break up the rythem of the opposition

it does not need a rule change it just needs the ref's to stop letting manchester city players get kicked off the park

its plain to to see that the officials are not doing there jobs when they turn up at a manchester city game. its like one rule for them and one for us let get it right here we the fans can saying without getting punished and even a top bbc radio commentator got punished for calling out the ref's in last season barmy red cards and missing fouls

the premier league and the officials are trying to stop pep and manchester city from building a empire its plain to see. and you only have to watch other games the officials do to see them ref them in a different style to manchester city games. pep know the rules and is good at not crossing the line but you can see him on the touchline its building up. its going to be good to watch the run in and we have some very big league games coming up lets see how the officials work there magic

Tactical fouls will always be made by those teams that attack more and comit a lot of players forward so we will comit probably more than most. Not sure it should be a red though there are too many variables, how many defenders were back, were the team breaking or had they just won the ball back, was it intentional or just a 'forwards' tackle. Reds would cause a lot of inconsistency.

I made that point in the comment section of the ESPN article. Dickheads were hell bent slagging off City players and Pep while missing the point that "thuggery" needs to be eradicated from the game.

I think a good middle ground would be introducing self-pass free kicks.

Then the fouled player could just get the ball and carry on dribbling.

It's used in hockey and I think it's quite effective at negating tactical fouling.

Also refs should be more strict when players on the offending team pick up the ball and walk off etc. to delay the free kick.
