Best ever Rock song

You'll be even more shocked when irate Irishmen turn up to correct you. ;-)
Shit, sorry chaps. I just kinda mean't well you know shitty old UK (and possibly ROI) and not shiny America. Well that is how i viewed the world at 10yo anyway. They had films with car chases and we had Percy Sugden. The idea all these groups are from this little group of islands is pretty mad. I assume Led Zepplin are Engli... from this neck of the woods. I think it is really cool, not sure why but it is.

I have to choose this

I'd probably have to go with Kashmir too. Happy to say I saw that performance of it at Knebworth.

Other particular favourites would include:

The Who: Won't Get Fooled Again
The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter
Deep Purple: Smoke on the Water
Kiss: Rock n Roll All Nite
Van Halen: Dance The Night Away
Thin Lizzy: The Boys Are Back in Town
AC/DC: You Shook Me All Night Long
Don Henley: Boys of the Summer
Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear The Reaper
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Sweet Home Alabama
Boston: More Than A Feeling
Rush: Spirit of Radio
Joe Walsh: Life's Been Good

What constitutes as rock?

For me bands like AC/DC, Kiss, LED Zep, black Sabbath, guns & roses, Motörhead, Metallica are proper rock bands.

I’m not sure Oasis, Rolling Stones or Bowie are though. Or are they rock and the others a more heavy metal?

Or can any individual or band produce a rock song without being generally considered a rock band or artist?
